Professional Diploma in Deep Sea Mariculture

Course Details:

New deep sea fish culture zones and advanced mariculture practices are creating strong demand for skilled professionals, driving increased productivity and industry competitiveness. This programme is designed to meet this demand by equipping in-service fish farmers, aquaculture graduates, and aspiring entrants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in modern aquaculture. The programme focuses on professional development, technical expertise and sustainable practices, preparing graduates to contribute to the future growth and transformation of the mariculture industry.

There are 6 modules in this programme:

1. Deep Sea Mariculture and Sustainability
2. Water Quality Monitoring and Management
3. Nutrition of Fish Feed and Fish Health Management
4. Business of Mariculture
5. Practicum on Modernised Deep Sea Mariculture
6. Practicum on Fish Harvesting and Execution Business Plan

Entry Requirements:

• Five HKDSE subjects at 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages; or
• Completion of a QF Level 3 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board; or
• Relevant RPL qualification(s) at QF Level 3 or above; or
• Other relevant verifiable prior learning and/or work experience that is/are deemed appropriate by respective Programme Board; or
• Equivalent.
