Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) for Aerial Survey

Programme Aims

 

Small unmanned aircraft (SUA) has been widely used in various fields including surveying, aerial photographing, mapping and more.  The course is designed to provide specific training on small unmanned aircraft (SUA) for aerial survey.  Through lectures, software training and flight training, learners are expected to obtain professional knowledge in photogrammetry, aerial survey and etc.

 

 

 

Course Outline

 

1. Photogrammetry Principles

 

- Interior, exterior, relative and absolute orientations

 

- Space resection, aero-triangulation, bundle adjustment

 

- Digital stereo viewing

 

 

 

2. Aerial Survey

 

- Camera specification and calibration

 

- Vertical and oblique photogrammetry

 

- Photogrammetry deliverable

 

- Flight plan design

 

- Application of aerial survey permit

 

 

 

3. Flight Training

 

- Familiarisation of SUA and practice

 

- Auto pilot mission demo

 

- Photos and video acquisition practice

 

 

 

4. Software Training

 

- Data geo-referencing and processing 

 

- Model integration products

 

- Integration to CAD, BIM & GIS environment

 

 

 

Schedule

 

- Duration: 13 hours

 

- The lessons is tentatively scheduled on Saturday

 

 

 

Certificate

 

Certificate of Attendance is awarded upon satisfaction of the attendance requirement of 70%
