INTRODUCTION
This course is recognised by the Buildings Department to meet the academic requirements of Technical Competent Person (TCP) Grade T1 to T3. As shown in the table below, graduates with relevant work experience may apply to the Buildings Department for TCP Grade T1 to T3 qualifications. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
The professional Diploma programme offers the following modules:
• Engineering Science for Construction (24hrs)
• Introduction to Building Services (18hrs)
• Building Structure and Drawings (30hrs)
• Construction Materials (33hrs)
• Building Construction (36hrs)
• Building Technology (36hrs)
• Building Temporary Works (27hrs)
• Quality, Environmental and Safety management (21hrs)
• Construction and Site management (30hrs)
• Buildings Ordinance and Construction Practice (30hrs)
• Building Contract Administration (30hrs)
• Integrated Project on Site Supervision (34hrs)
MODE OF STUDY
The Professional Diploma Programme is a part-time study programme. The modules will be taught in face-to-face lectures supplemented by tutorials, and/or laboratory/practical workshops. The programme can be completed in 18 months.
ASSESSMENTS
• Learner’s performance in each module is assessed by continuous assignments and/or a final examination. Assessment and examination are conducted in English.
• The minimum attendance requestment of each module is 70%.
AWARDS
Professional Diploma in Construction Site Supervision will be conferred to students upon their satisfactory completion of the whole programme which consists of 12 modules.
Entry Requirements
Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics with 1 year relevant working experience
Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E / Level 2 or above, including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics with 3 years relevant working experience
Completion of a QF Level 3 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board with at least 1 year relevant working experience
Mature applicants aged 21 or above, with 5 years relevant work experience and completed Technically Competent Person T1 Training Programme may be admitted subject to passing an interview and/or written test.
Financial Assistance Scheme
Vplus Subsidy Scheme
This course is an eligible programme under “Vplus Subsidy Scheme – Vplus Engineering”. Under this scheme, successful applicants will be refunded 60% of the paid tuition fees of eligible programmes, subject to a maximum of $45,000 per person.
