Professional Diploma in Construction Management

Course Description:

The Professional Diploma in Construction Management course provides students with knowledge and skills in specific areas of construction management, so as to enhance their career development and to improve their academic knowledge for further study.

The qualification of the professional diploma courses are recognized by Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM) as fulfillment of the academic qualification to apply for Associate Member Class (AHKICM).

Programme Structure:

The Professional Diploma programme offers the following 8 modules (36hrs each):

(CON3002X) Land Surveying and Construction Drawing
(CON4003X) Structures
(CON4004X) Building Internal Environment
(CON4005X) Building Technology and Services
(CON4006X) Construction Economics
(CON4007X) Management for Construction
(CON4008X) Construction Law and Contract

Frequency and Duration:

1 to 3 evenings per week (7:00 - 10:00pm) depends on the number of modules selected.

The total number of contact hours is 288hrs. The whole programme can be completed in 12 -15 months.

Assessments:

The students' performance in each module is assessed by continuous assignments and/or a final examination. Assessments and examination are conducted in English.

Awards:

Satisfactory completion of the whole programme of 8 modules will lead to a Professional Diploma in Construction Management.

Completion of individual module is entitled to a Module Certificate.
