This programme is recognised as an acceptable academic qualification of an “authorized signatory* and technical director*” for the purpose of minor works contractors registration, under alternative requirement (A1) as stipulated in Appendix G of Practice Note for Registered Contractors (PNRC) 69 .
* Any applicant with relevant recognized academic qualifications must also possess relevant experience recognised by the Buildings Department (BD) in order to obtain the status. Applicants may also be required to participate in an interview, and it is a matter of discretion for BD to recognise any experience claimed by the applicants. For details, please refer to PNRC69.
Entry Requirements
Completion of S6 under the new academic structure, or S5 under the old academic structure, or equivalent and with at least one year relevant working experience*; or
Completion of a QF Level 2 programme in engineering related disciplines, or equivalent and with at least one year relevant working experience*.
Mature applicants, i.e. those aged 21 or above with at least two years’ relevant working experience, can be admitted. Where appropriate, the applicant may be required to pass an entrance assessment, which can be in an oral and/or written form.
Financial Assistance Scheme
1. Vplus Subsidy Scheme
This course is an eligible programme under “Vplus Subsidy Scheme – Vplus Engineering”.
Under this scheme, successful applicants will be refunded 60% of the paid tuition fees of eligible programmes, subject to a maximum of $45,000 per person.
