Programme Description
This programme equips students with the cruise operations knowledge and the competences fulfilling the training requirements stipulated by the International Maritime Organization, so as to enable them to serve on board luxurious cruise ships.

*Students with more than 6 months relevant work experience can apply for exemption.
 
Frequency and Duration
- 1 to 2 evenings per week.
- Some lessons will be arranged at daytime, detail arrangement will be announced during class.
- Duration: 189 hrs. The whole programme can be completed in around 6 months.
 
Assessments
Students' performance in each module is assessed by continuous assignments and/or a final examination. Assessments and examination are conducted in English.

Graduates may serve on-board cruise ships in different departments including (but not limited to) Food & Beverage, Entertainment, Shop, Guest Services, Galley, etc.
 
Awards
On successful completion of the programme and satisfying the assessment requirements, students will be awarded a ‘Diploma in Cruise Operations’. 
 
Financial Assistance Scheme 
Vplus Engineering
This programme has been included in the list of reimbursable courses under the Vplus Engineering. Successful applicants will be refunded 60% of the tuition fees of eligible programmes.

IVE – Engineering reserves all rights to make revisions or alternations to the programme schedule, content or other details if necessary.
 
Entry Requirements

21 years old or above with 2 years relevant working experience, may be admitted subject to passing an interview and / or aptitude test, if necessary

Completion of S6 under the new academic structure with HKDSE English at Level 1 or above, or equivalent, with work experience* or currently employed; or

Completion of S5 under the old academic structure with HKCEE English Language ("Syllabus B" before 2007) at Level 1 / Grade F or above, or equivalent, with work experience* or currently employed; or

Completion of a QF Level 2 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board, or equivalent, with work experience* or currently employed.

*Students without work experience may be employed to take up day-time customer-services related jobs prior to joining the programme.
