About VPET
Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) plays a pivotal role in the education system by providing multiple and flexible pathways for young people with diverse aspirations and abilities. This programme is designed to help teaching staff understand more about VPET and its benefits to young people through industry related workshops and activities, enriching their VPET knowledge and skills for providing comprehensive career guidance and support to students.
Programme Brief
This career-experience oriented programme is composed of the following three modules. Learners have the flexibility in completing the programme in accordance with their own schedules.

Programme Contents
Module I: Industry Connect – Occupations and Market Changes
Code:BMT4818 (30 hours)
This module enables learners to understand the structure of education systems in general and the VPET sectors in particular. Learners will acquire industrial knowledge in trade areas by participating in various learning activities.
Module I includes 4 hours lectures (compulsory) plus 26 hours for learning activities. Learners can enroll for the learning activities according to their schedules and interest.
Module II: Career Guidance – VPET Study and Career Paths
Code:BMT4819 (22 hours)
This module provides a theoretical framework for working as a career guidance counsellor. Learners will explore the most updated occupational information to enable them to provide more extensive career advice to their students.
Module III : Values of VPET in Education Systems – Global Scan VPET
Code:BMT4820 (20 hours)
This module traces the evolution of VPET systems in Europe, Asia Pacific and Hong Kong. It enables learners to differentiate a VPET system from the general education system in terms of their strengths, weaknesses, benefits, and challenges.
Entry Requirements
Entry Requirements: Full-time teaching staff employed by main stream schools in Hong Kong including teaching assistants/associates and social workers who have duties related to career guidance. Other staff with duties related to career guidance.
Remarks
VTC reserves the right to cancel the programme, revise programme title, contents or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) and teaching schedule if circumstances so warrant. Acceptance of application is at the discretion of VTC. VTC also reserves the right on whether or not to distribute free copy of the reference book.

• Duly completed Application Form
• A recent passport photo
• Cheque (HK$1900 by crossed cheque payable to “Vocational Training Council” and your full name and the programme applied should be written on the back of the cheque) or use the online payment system
“Application for Certificate of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (BA424049M)” should be marked on the envelope.
