This course provides a comprehensive understanding of web application security and penetration testing, including : 
 
  1. Web Application Basics: Overview of web technologies, cookies, sessions, HTTP requests, and common web frameworks.
  2. Common Web Vulnerabilities: Detailed study of SQL injection, RFI, LFI, command injection, XSS, insecure web logic, arbitrary file uploads, and web backdoors.
  3. Penetration Testing Tools for Web Applications: Familiarize with tools for enumeration, scanning, attacking, and proxying in web contexts.
  4. Basic Reconnaissance: Discover tools for enumeration and types of services running on a server.
  5. Server Vulnerabilities: Identify web server vulnerabilities and explore exploitation tools and techniques.
  6. Exploit Code Basics: Understand exploit concepts, payloads, and basic exploit code modifications.
  7. Post Exploitation: Techniques for maintaining access and reverse shell methodologies.
  8. Web Application Hardening: Implementing Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and secure coding practices.

The normal duration for completion of the programme is around 6 months.

Entry Requirements

Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, plus at least one year of relevant work experience, or equivalent; or
Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E/Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, plus at least two years of relevant work experience, or equivalent; or
Completion of a QF Level 3 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board plus at least one year of relevant work experience; or
Relevant RPL qualification(s) at QF Level 3 or above plus at least one year of relevant work experience AND a pass in an entrance assessment, which can be either oral or written; or
At least two years of relevant work experience plus other relevant verifiable prior learning that are deemed appropriate by respective Programme Board AND a pass in an entrance assessment, which can be either oral or written.

As a part of the Vplus Subsidy Scheme, Vplus Creative Industries is supported by the HKSAR Government to encourage working adults to pursue higher qualifications for career advancement and to promote lifelong learning. 
 
Successful applicants can be reimbursed 60% of the tuition fees paid for the programme, maximum HK$36,000 per person. Applicants may apply for reimbursement for more than one eligible programmes.
