This foundational course is tailored to equip participants with an understanding of cybersecurity principles in public sector. It aims to familiarize participants with government IT security policies and guidelines while introducing the domains of information security, referenced from the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) curriculum. A handson approach will be provided for participants to gain technical knowledge. Interactive activities such as laboratory and site visits will be also included.
 
On completion of the Certificate in Cybersecurity for the Public Sector (Foundation Level), learners are expected to be
able to:
  1. Explain key information security concepts, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  2. Develop and implement security, privacy and risk management strategies.
  3. Identify and defend against common cyberattacks and threats.
  4. Comply with government IT security requirements.

7, 8, 9 Jan 2025 (Time: 09:00-12:00 & 13:30-17:30)
Entry Requirements

Completion of S6; or
Completion of a QF Level 2 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board; or
Relevant RPL qualification(s) at QF Level 2 or above; or
Other relevant verifiable prior learning and/or work experience that is/are deemed appropriate by respective Programme Board; or

Mature applicants, i.e. those aged 21 or above. Where appropriate, the applicant may be required to pass an entrance assessment, which can be in an oral and/or written form.
