Diploma in Modernised Aquaculture
The programme objectives of Diploma in Modernised Aquaculture are to:
(1) to equip students with scientific knowledge in aquaculture environment and fish health; and
(2) to equip students with practical skills and knowledge to operate aquaculture farm
On completion of Diploma in Modernised Aquaculture, learners will be able to:
(a) illustrate the concept and knowledge of modernised aquaculture (PILO1);
(b) assist in operating an aquaculture farm (PILO2)
Venue: Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Chai Wan) or Approved Designated Venue
Hourly breakdown of contents:
- Aquaculture Environment (52 hours)
- Fish Health Management (52 hours)
- Aquaculture Farm Operation (39 hours)
- Project in Aquaculture (39 hours)
Assessment items and their weightings:
- Continuous Assessment 50% (Assignment, Case Studies)
- End of Module Assessment 50% (Project/Case Studies/Presentation/Test)
Entry Requirements
(1) Completion of S6 under HKDSE curriculum/ S5 under HKCEE curriculum, or equivalent, with 1-year working experience; or
(2) Completion of a QF Level 2 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board; or
(3) Relevant RPL qualification(s) at QF Level 2 or above; or
(4) Other relevant verifiable prior learning and/or at least 2 years’ relevant work experience that is/are deemed appropriate by respective Programme Board; or
(5) Equivalent.
