    Course Overview
    This course provides a practical overview of fire safety and risk management during building maintenance and construction works. It covers fire prevention measures, fire risk identification and assessment, and basic operation of key fire services systems, supported by practical demonstrations to enhance fire safety awareness and risk control capabilities.
     
    This course is suitable for building management personnel, engineering practitioners, and interested parties.
     
     
    Course Contents
    Fire Safety during Construction and Maintenance Works
    - Temporary fire prevention measures and management of fire services equipment
    - Safe handling and storage of flammable materials, and clear escape routes
    - Proper use of fire extinguishers and initial fire response procedures
     
    Fire Risk Identification, Assessment, and Site Management
    - Identification of common site fire hazards and high‑risk areas
    - Simple fire risk assessment using likelihood and severity
    - Fire safety monitoring, record‑keeping, and communication with contractors
     
    Fire Services Systems: Design, Operation, and Regulations
    - Basic operation of fire detection and alarm systems
    - Overview of sprinkler, hose reel, hydrant, and water supply systems
    - Key inspections before and after construction works
     
    Fire Services Equipment Management and Practical Demonstration
    - Managing construction‑related interference to fire services equipment
    - Demonstration of sprinkler operation
    - Demonstration of fire alarm sound and visual alerts
     
     
    Schedule
    - Time: 18:45 - 21:45 (weekday night) and/or 12:00 - 18:00 (for Sat)
    - Duration: 12 hrs (4 lessons, 3 hrs per lesson).
