Small Unmanned Aircraft (Advanced Rating) (DE424145Q Part A)

CAD recognized course for SUA pilot (advanced rating)

 

The HKSAR Government has enacted the new Small Unmanned Aircraft Order which commences on 1 Jun 2022. It aims to accommodate the technological development of SUA and safeguard public safety.

 

Vocational Training Council (VTC) is a Small Unmanned Aircraft Approved Training Organisation (SUA ATO) granted by the Civil Aviation Department (CAD). Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), the flagship design institution under VTC, is offering the approved advanced training programme “Small Unmanned Aircraft (Advanced Rating) DE424145Q Part A”. This programme introduces the new regulatory requirements, risk assessment, SUA operation, and safety management, etc, so as to enable eligible graduates to apply to CAD for Advanced Rating.

 

  • Provide drones for flight training

  • Theoretical Knowledge (4 days / 24 hours)
  • Flight Training (2 days / 12 hours)

Professional Trainer

Lecturer: Rex Ngan

Founder of Hong Kong Professional Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Association, has rich experience in training many organisations to control the UAV. He was also involved in the research of UAV with universities. He is a minority of people who have been authorised to be the trainer of UAV training in Hong Kong and Asia. Rex has studied intensively in radio control drones and mechanical operations since 2003. Furthermore, he is the earliest person selling and using UAV with GPS function in HK.

 

Rex has accumulated over 3000 flight hours, with the experience providing commercial and training services such as aerial shooting, survey, generating 3D models for the government, TV broadcasting companies, filmmaking companies, construction firms and universities.

 

External Recognition

Upon passing the assessments and meeting the attendance requirements, learners will receive a Training Certificate for the application of CAD’s Advanced Rating.

 

Entry Requirement

Applicants are required to submit the record of Flight Experience in Operating Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle (UAV). Details will be provided upon admission.

Enrollment
A) By Online Application:

2. Complete the Online Form
3. Upload the supporting documents required (e.g. for academic qualifications and work experiences)
4. Settle the tuition fee (by crossed cheque payable to “Vocational Training Council”; or by ATM)
5. Submit the cheque or the original copy of ATM Receipt to our office by post or in person. Your full name and the course applied should be written on the back of the cheque or the receipt.

B) By post or submission in person:
1. A completed Application Form, a set of photocopies of supporting documents of academic qualifications or work experiences, and a crossed cheque payable to “Vocational Training Council” / the original copy of ATM receipt for tuition fee should be submittedLinksPayment Method:

1) Applicants must be permanent resident of Hong Kong; or have the right of residence and receiving education in Hong Kong.
2) No applicant will be deemed to be an enrolled student of the Institute until such time as his/her application has been processed by the Institute and full payment of fees has been cleared at the Bank. Postdated cheque is not acceptable.
3) Fees paid is non-refundable unless the course is cancelled.
4) An official receipt for their tuition fee payment will be given in the first lesson.
5) Early Bird Discount will be counted on the postmark date (for cheque) or the transaction date (for ATM).
6) The Institute reserves the right to make any alterations about the courses that are considered to be necessary without prior notice (e.g. changes in teaching venues, time, instructors or tuition fee, etc.). The Institute also reserves the right to cancel a course if there is insufficient number of enrollments.
