Programme Aims

The government has actively promoted the use of electric vehicles (EV) in recent years, aiming to stop new registrations of private petrol cars and hybrid cars before 2035. This leads to a rise in the popularity of electric vehicles.

To response to the market change,  IVE Engineering In-service Training Office has launched a short course "Basic Electric Vehicle (EV) Maintenance and charging" to equip learners with knowledge about EV charging and maintenance.

Programme Structure

  • Basic Electric Vehicle (EV) structure
  • Introduction of Battery Management System (BMS)
  • Common EV Charging types in HK (e.g. AC & DC)
  • Electric Vehicle (EV) safety features
  • Electric Vehicle (EV) cooling system
  • Air-conditioning & Brake System
  • Workshop Practices (1. Tires replacement & brake pad checking)

- The lessons is tentatively scheduled on Saturday

Award

- Certificate of Attainment will be conferred to course participant who passed the assessment and satisfied the attendance requirement of 70%.
