Programme Aim
In accordance with Regulation 33 of Waterworks Regulations, any person has to possess of 2 parts of qualifications for applying a new Grade I Plumber's Licence. This programme aims to provide the part II qualification for the practitioners who fulfilled the part I qualification.
 
 
Programme Structure
MBS3025X - Statutory Requirements and Procedures of Plumbing Works in Hong Kong (36 hrs)
MBS3026X - Project Management in Plumbing Services (30 hrs)
MBS3027X - Plumbing Practical (6 hrs)
 
 
Assessment
- Except for MBS3027X, learners' performance in each module are assessed by Continuous Assessment (CA) and End-of-Module Assessment (EA). Learner has to pass the End-of-Module Assessment (EA) for passing a module.
- The minimum attendance requirement for an individual module is 70%. Learners are not allowed to sit for the End-of-Module Assessment (EA), if he/she failed to meet the attendance requirement.
 
 
Medium of Instruction (MoI)
The medium of instruction is Chinese, supplemented by English terminology. All teaching materials and assessments are in Chinese.
 
 
Schedule
- 2 to 3 nights per week, 19:00 - 22:00.
- Module “Plumbing Practical MBS3027X” will be arranged in Saturday (13:00 - 21:00), please refer to the timetable for the details. Absent from the lesson of this module will not be allowed to sit for the EA.
- Duration: 72 hrs. The normal duration for completion of the programme is around 6 months.
 
 
External Recognition
The award of Certificate in Plumbing Services (Hong Kong) has been recognized by Water Supplies Department (WSD) in accordance with Regulation 33 of Waterworks Regulations as the Part II qualification in applying for a new Grade I Plumber's Licence. Learners may apply for a new Grade I Plumber's Licence, if he/she has already fulfilled the part I qualification.
 
 
Subsidy Scheme
This course has been included in the list of reimbursable courses under the Vplus Engineering.

Entry Requirements

Completion of the Craft Certificate in Plumbing and Pipefitting issued by the Vocational Training Council after 1987 (the issue date of which is within 5 years before the date of application), with four years’ relevant work experience; or

Possession of fellowship/membership of The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering and the membership is valid at the date of application, with four years’ relevant work experience; or

Completion of the Certificate in Refresher Course on Plumbing and Pipefitting issued by the Vocational Training Council, the issue date of which is within 5 years before the date of application, with four years’ relevant work experience; or

Completion of the Diploma in Plumbing Engineering issued by the Vocational Training Council, the issue date of which is within 5 years before the date of application, with four years’ relevant work experience.

  5. Subject to the availability of the classes, applicants will be informed to change to another class, if the applied class was full.
  6. Upon successful submission of the application, the applicant will receive an email from the system.
  7. Any change in class selection will be put on the waiting list.
  8. The result of the application will generally be notified by SMS within 7 working days after the application. Successful applicants are required to verify the original documents for admission. Details will be notified by email.
