Certificate for Junior Electricians



Programme Description
This Certificate programme aims at qualifying S3 youngsters and/or other adult learners, who have not been working in the power industry, to prepare themselves and join the power industry for their career development and moving upwards.
Programme Structure
LAN1123 - Vocational English: Presenting Simple Information and Ideas in Writing (30 hrs)
EEE2006X - Foundation Engineering Mathematics (30 hrs)
EEE2007X - Introduction to Electrical Engineering and Safety (30 hrs)
Assessment
Learners' performance in each module will be assessed by Continuous Assessment (CA) and End-of-Module Assessment (EA).
Medium of Instruction (MoI)
The medium of instruction is Chinese, supplemented by English terminology except for the English modules. Excluding English module, all teaching materials and written communications including test and examination papers are in Chinese.
Schedule
- 2 to 3 nights per week, 18:30 - 21:30.
- In special circumstances, some lessons may be conducted in online mode.
- Duration: 90 hrs. The normal duration for completion of the programme is around 3-5 months.
Articulation
Graduates can apply for Diploma in Power Engineering programme (Programme code : EG423401P) offered by IVE.
Entry Requirements
21 years old or above with 2 years relevant working experience, may be admitted subject to passing an interview and / or aptitude test, if necessary
Completion of S3, or equivalent with 1-year working experience; or
Completion a QF Level 1 programme that is deemed acceptable to the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Programme Board with 2-year working experience
