This programme aims to train the frontline arboriculture practitioners to acquire knowledge of conducting petrol chainsaw operation safely and basic tree trimming work on ground level.

  • choose and equip suitable personal protection equipment (PPE) properly for chainsaw operation;
  • conduct daily chainsaw inspection and maintenance procedures; and
  • use chainsaw safely for tree cutting work on the ground level accordingly to certain guidelines and standards.

Entry Requirements

- Completion of S3 AND at least one year’s relevant work experience; or
- Other relevant verifiable prior learning and/or two year’s work experience that is/are deemed appropriate by respective Programme Board AND a pass in an entrance assessment, which can be either oral or written or practical.
- Mature applicants, i.e. those aged 21 or above with at least 2 years’ relevant working experience, may be admitted.
